ROYAL ACADEMY OF DANCE/
The G.B.L. Wilson Photographic Archive
GB Wilson's interest in photography and his friendships with dancers led to the existence of this rich photographic ballet archive. An extraordinary visual diary, started in 1941, illustrates his unique access to world famous names in the ballet world such as Ninette de Valois, Marie Rambert, Rudolf Nureyev, Gelsey Kirkland, Maurice Bejart, Bronislava Nijinska, George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Moira Shearer, Peter Schaufuss and William Forsythe, not only in performance but also off-stage, in rehearsals and at social functions. We now have the 40's and 50's available to view
